The one-year anniversary of the introduction of the SOFTWARE ACT in Congress is approaching of the 18th of May. The “Sensible Oversight for Technology which Advances Regulatory Efficiency Act” or the “SOFTWARE Act” is designed to reduce restrictions on software used in healthcare. Specifically, many software applications in healthcare are transactional in nature and they have no impact on patient care or clinical outcomes. Even though they are not related to patient care, they still face stringent approval requirements.
Information about the SOFTWARE ACT is available on this post.
