Google UK has announced a collaborative partnership with NHS (National Health Service, United Kingdom) where NHS will allow Google to scan and analyze data on 1.6 million patients. This data resides with Royal Free NHS Trust. Google will use the information to train its artificial intelligence software to learn how to help doctors to identify diseases. Patient benefits come from the enhanced ability of the system to help catch diseases early. Artificial intelligence systems, as the one offered by Google DeepMind, are being used to increase predictive capabilities using massive amounts of data.
